Kelly Azar

Yoga teacher training graduate

"I absolutely loved doing my yoga teacher training with Dana. She is an exceptional human being, and that translates directly into her teaching. Dana enters the shala with deep presence and listens — to our energy levels, our moods, and our physical abilities each day. Every flow feels unique and intentional. She intuitively knows when to challenge us and when to slow things down.

Our masks fall away and our minds finally rest. Her impeccable cueing — she is an alignment freak — allows us to enter a true flow state and experience yoga for what it really is: a spiritual practice.

In just three weeks, we learned so much — asanas, sequencing, anatomy, philosophy, and more. But what I take home most is the understanding that being genuinely yourself and teaching from the heart is what truly makes a teacher stand out. And Dana absolutely does."

Ana Iriarte

Long-time student · Beirut, 2017 – present

"My experience with Dana was, to say the least, life-changing. I started my journey with her in 2017 in Beirut, completely new to yoga. Dana not only taught me solid foundations in Hatha and Vinyasa, but gave me the knowledge and confidence to build my own practice safely and on my own. In 2025, I still practice regularly, and I owe so much of that to her.

What always made Dana stand out was her unique balance of softness and strength. Her energy created a space that, more than a yoga class, felt like an extended home — a real sense of community and safety.

Unlike many spaces that focus on the end point — reaching a perfect asana or seeking validation — Dana always encouraged us to find our own path and focus on the process, learning to listen to our bodies and accept what they needed in the moment. Spirituality in her classes never felt forced. Her meditations and reflections were genuine, human, and deeply moving.

Personally, my practice with Dana was key in helping me navigate a breakup, a surgery, and the final stages of my PhD. The tools I learned with her made me fitter and healthier, and helped me build a fair, understanding and loving relationship with both my body and my mind."

Student & community member

"Dana is not just a yoga teacher — she is someone through whom I found a second family, where movement and breath became a journey through every emotion imaginable. From the very first session, I knew this wasn't just another yoga class. Her warmth, her energy, and the incredible people she brings together make every practice feel like home.

This is where I've stretched beyond my limits — not just physically, but emotionally. I've laughed until my stomach hurt, cried on my mat when life felt overwhelming, and shared moments of pure stillness that felt like the deepest form of connection. Dana doesn't just teach yoga; she creates an environment where it's safe to be vulnerable, to explore, to release, and to grow.

Some days I walked into class carrying the weight of the world, and by the time I left, that weight had lifted — through a deep stretch, a shared joke, or simply knowing I wasn't alone. Dana has been my sanctuary, my reset button, and my reminder that yoga is about the people, the moments, and the journey. She makes every class feel like home."

Michele Laugel

Regular student · Mandala Beirut

"I was a regular student at Mandala in Beirut. The courses I took with Dana were so wholesome. She made us connect to our bodies in a very deep and lasting way, encouraging us to focus on posture and alignment, giving us tips we practiced outside the studio.

I have several injuries, and Dana showed care and compassion, working around my pain. During the retreats I have attended, she managed to focus on every participant's needs as she challenged us to safely push ourselves beyond our comfort zone. She also made sure the ambiance was one of respect and introspection — we often ended up gaining more than just yoga skills."

Mandala Beirut · first yoga school

"Dana was my first yoga teacher and Mandala my first yoga school, and I can say they set the bar high. Their teachings convey the real benefits associated with the practice and with many different yoga styles. Mandala is the only space that made me want to be consistent with my practice.

I'd look forward to entering the space, finding my spot, connecting with the teachers and students, and practicing all together with such wholesomeness. I always left filled with love and feeling so light and balanced. I am so excited to have Mandala back."

Prenatal · online practice

"During my pregnancy, I did online yoga with Dana, and that was the best decision I could have made. She helped me more than I could imagine — to stay fit, to keep good flexibility, and to relax my body and my mind.

She was always so patient and really considerate towards my pregnancy and how I was feeling on the day and during the practice."

Lisa Baumler

Yoga teacher training graduate · Sri Lanka

"Before starting my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Sri Lanka, I was in a difficult place in my life. Looking back now, I can honestly say that this experience changed me in ways I never expected.

Dana is much more than a yoga teacher. She is a mentor, a guide, and one of the most genuine, kind-hearted souls I have ever met. Her teachings went far beyond the physical practice of yoga — she listens, understands and lets you see the world through compassion for yourself and others. She creates a space where you feel safe enough to explore parts of yourself you may never have encountered before.

Especially her Yin Yoga classes made me experience something I never did before. Feeling held and safe enough to just sit and cry in a circle of caring people was the most special experience. Her classes taught me how to slow down, listen, feel, and connect with myself on a much deeper level. Through this practice, I started to explore new ways to regulate my emotions, process life's challenges, and approach myself with more love.

Even after the training ended, Dana never felt like someone who simply taught a course and moved on. She remains a source of inspiration and guidance whenever needed.

The training with Dana gave me so much more than a certification. It gave me tools, friendships, personal growth, and a new perspective on life. I am endlessly grateful for the experience and for her influence on my journey.

If you have the opportunity to learn from her, take it. It may change your life in ways you cannot yet imagine. Thank you, Dana. I can't wait to see where your path continues to lead, and I feel incredibly lucky that our paths crossed."
